Up: What offensive stats are
- What statistics match up with scoring runs?
- Who will help you score more runs?
- Ichiro! (.303 BA, .350 OBP, .436 SLG, 15 HR, 54 BB, 36 SO, 33 SB), or
- Richie Sexson (.263 BA, .369 OBP, .541 SLG, 39 HR, 89 BB, 167 SO, 1 SB)
- They are actually almost even.
- What would a graph look like if a statistic matched up with runs
perfectly? Correlation
- From 1946 to the 2003 season, look at various stats versus runs
scored per game for each team.
- Correlation coefficients (r) (range from -1 to +1 with closer to
zero meaning little correlation and closer to +1 or -1 positive or
negative correlation).
